The Three Important Pillars Of Long Term Weight Loss

Most people will, in their battle against the bulge, fail. They'll win a few battles perhaps, but they will never win the war. The war is fought against your weight and the reward - permanent weight loss. But why do so many people fail? Well, because they neglect one of the main pillars that needs to be constructed for permanent weight loss.

Now, everyone looking to lose weight focuses on the first pillar - nutrition. The majority will also build the second pillar - exercise. The third pillar, however, is the most important. It is the foundation pillar that almost everyone neglects, and which, as a consequence, causes failure. This pillar is mind-set.

Right, lets take a quick look at these pillars one by one.

Pillar 1 - Nutrition

Without proper nutrition you'll never see a long term weight loss result. It really is that simple. It isn't qute as simple, however, as a calorie in vs a calorie out, despite what you might have heard in the past. Proper weight loss nutrition involves two crucial things - health and sustainability. If you are always searching for a magic pill then you simply will not see success for long. A healthy diet will lead to a healthy internal system and its not possible to have long term success with any weight loss plan unless your internal system is healthy.


Pillar 2 - Exercise

Ok, now exercise can be something that takes a back seat to nutrition when it comes to short term weight loss, but this really isn't the case if you want long term results. Exercise is crucial for all sorts of reasons, not least in aiding in the development of a healthy internal system that, as I just mentioned, is essential for permanent weight loss. However, it goes much further than this, with exercising being crucial for hormone manipulation, metabolism, and a host of other things. For long term successful weight loss, these are crucial elements to understand.

Pillar 3 - Mind-Set

The truth is that the two previous pillars will fail miserably unless this final pillar is put into place. Why is this? Well, if you do not have the right mind-set then you will never actually make the right decisions for long with regards to exercise and nutrition. This mind-set is more than what you are consciously thinking. It really comes down to your subconscious and how you are 'programmed'. This will be the key factor in determining your weight.

Unfortunately the vast majority of dieters fail to understand or recognise the importance of mind-set for long term weight loss. Without this pillar in place, everything else will crumble to the ground eventually, and all your good efforts to this point will have been wasted.

There's no doubt that each pillar is essential in the long run. Imagine a 3 legged chair. Take one leg away and what happens? The chair falls over. The same is true with your weight. Start with your mind-set and then set the other pillars in place. Do so and you'll lose weight quickly, easily, and never see it return.
